I am unaware of any in person book clubs in my area (SA).
I love the idea of an online reading group. It’s nice to be able to contribute and read ideas in your own time.

I was a member of the same bookclub for 17 years. I moved and then tried doing it online with them but it was too difficult. I sent my written reviews but never got good feed back so left. I much prefer an in person club. It’s great meeting new people and making new friends.

I much prefer in person face to face book clubs so you can see the body language for a full experience of my friends responses. I am enjoying the books posted for us to in the “together we read” series as something I can recommend my friends read so we can reflect on them together without being part of book club that does not fit my FIFO lifestyle.
