Franny struggles with finding forgiveness for Chris throughout the novel. How do you think you would feel in Franny’s position?

That’s a hard question. I like to think I could forgive the person, but I guess until I experienced that kind of trauma I couldn’t honestly say.

Devastated….. to lose a partner that you have shared such a large part of your life with, in such a cruel way would be very traumatising and extremely difficult to accept. I think it would take a lot of strength to find forgiveness for an individual who had taken the Sunshine from your life.

Forgiveness, though important, takes time. I would have felt the same as Franny in the same position. Franny needed to grieve before she could find forgiveness and it is the final stage for her to finally live her life post-Frank.

I don’t think forgiveness is that Franny is looking for with Frank, I think it is the where to go now Frank is not here. She talks about how Frank was centre to all their friends, an since he gone how will keep friends in her life. So she believes that better to cut her self off from those around her.
